Last week the Biomechanics Team were at Leeds Trinity University installing AMTI force plates.

Two BMS400600 High Frequency plates were accompanied by two full-size filler plates, creating the optimum set-up for the gait lab applications at the Leeds Trinity School of Sport and Wellbeing. These force plates will be integrated with a Motion Analysis Corporation Motion capture system.

The Optima range by AMTI offers superior accuracy, high natural frequency, and flexibility across applications than any other force plate on the market, including gait, balance and sports.

An AccuPower force plate was also supplied, a portable solution for jump, drop landing, squat analysis and more.

About the Optima-BMS

The Biomechanics Measurement System (Optima-BMS) is Optima technology in the most affordable package. The BMS400600 is AMTI’s most popular mountable force plate, offering superior accuracy, high natural frequency, and flexibility across applications. The Optima-BMS is available in Standard Frequency or High Frequency, which can be beneficial for highly dynamic applications or scenarios with increased environmental vibrations.

The Optima precision calibration process involves up to 4000 measurements taken along a high-density grid that covers the entire platform surface. Multiple loads are applied at up to 400 locations using a precision machine capable of maintaining absolute positioning accuracy of 0.005mm, which is certified by The Association for Manufacturing Technology.
