Neural Pathways and STEPS Prosthetics launching new amputee clinic

Neural Pathways, the award-winning neurorehabilitation centre in Gateshead, is launching a brand new amputee rehabilitation service in partnership with STEPS Prosthetics, a specialist prosthetics and orthotics company based in Sheffield.

We are proud to support the launch of this fantastic new service with the C-Mill, an innovative virtual reality treadmill developed by Motek and supplied in the UK by Summit Medical and Scientific.

Launch event

The partnership will be celebrated with a launch event at the Neural Pathways facility, 3 Kings Court, Kingsway South, Team Valley, NE11 0SH on Thursday 12th January 2023 starting at 5.30pm which we would be delighted to welcome you to.

The first of its kind

STEPS Prosthetics will be providing outpatient prosthetic and orthotic services from the Gateshead clinic, working alongside the Neural Pathways clinical team to offer an interdisciplinary outpatient service to the Northeast area.

“By having this additional clinic in the Northeast, we are able to give an enhanced level of service to clients, many of whom live in the area” says STEPS Prosthetics Founding Director, Colette Shaw. “We are delighted to be working with Neural Pathways and their therapy team to offer a comprehensive service to our clients closer to home.”

Innovative virtual reality technology

Neural Pathways has integrated state-of-the-art technology into their clinical practice, empowering patients to achieve highly intensive, repetitive and engaging treatment. A central part of the amputee rehabilitation service is the C-Mill, an innovative virtual reality treadmill developed by Motek and supplied in the UK by Summit Medical and Scientific.
