About Optima

AMTI‘s Optima range is ideal for clinical and research applications, studying biomechanical gait, balance, sports performance, and rehabilitation. The Optima level of accuracy includes:

An average centre of pressure (COP) accuracy of just a fraction of a millimetre, which is typically less than 0.5mm.
Crosstalk values typically ± 0.02% of applied load.
Measurement accuracy typically ± 0.5% of applied load (with a minimum applied load of 50lb).

Each system is composed of an Optima force plate, Optima signal conditioner, Optima calibration certificate, and cabling. Each AMTI Optima mountable force platform is shipped with aluminium mounting rails, as part of their Modular Rail System. This method of mounting is unique in that multiple sets of modular mounting rails can be installed end-to-end to create rail systems. The force platforms can then be moved in quarter-, half-, or full-plate increments along the length of a rail system, with the help of AMTI‘s filler plates. This allows for easy reconfiguration of your force plates to suit your application, accommodate for varying stride lengths, and also allow for future lab growth.

The Optima High Performance System

The Optima-HPS is the most advanced, most accurate set of force plates available.

The HPS400600 measures 40 x 60 cm and is ideal for accommodating average human stride lengths, and can also be paired for bilateral jump or balance assessments. For more dynamic movements, multiple plates can be combined to create instrumented floor systems and walkways. The HPS400600 is available in either a Standard Frequency or High Frequency model, which can be beneficial for highly dynamic applications or scenarios with increased environmental vibrations.

The HPS464508 measures 46 x 51cm and is an industry standard size for adult and paediatric gait labs. Most popular for gait analysis, this multi-axis mounted force plate can be used for almost anything from adult human balance testing to canine gait applications. High sensitivity, low crosstalk, excellent repeatability and long-term stability make this platform an ideal candidate for research and clinical studies. The HPS464508 is available in either a Standard Frequency or High Frequency model, which can be beneficial for highly dynamic applications or scenarios with increased environmental vibrations.

The Optima Biomechanics Measurement System

The Optima-BMS is Optima technology in the most affordable and flexible package. The Optima-BMS is second only to the Optima-HPS series.

The Optima Special Purpose Series

The Optima-SPS is the latest development from AMTI and features a thick glass top for an extreme viewing aperture. This unique design allows activities on the top surface of the force plate to be viewed and recorded from the underside.

The SPS464508-GT features a viewing aperture of a 464 x 508 mm platform area over a 24 mm thick glass top.

The SPS600900-GT features a viewing aperture of 600 x 900 mm through a 40mm thick glass top.
