Hocoma exoskeletons highlighted in Neuro Rehab Times special report
Hocoma
Summit Medical and Scientific have contributed to the latest NR Times Special Report, highlighting the Hocoma ArmeoSpring Pro, ArmeoPower and LokomatPro Sensation exoskeletons in the annual Exoskeleton Update. Click here to read the full report.
The new solution for upper limb therapy
The ArmeoSpring Pro’s customisable arm weight support, powered by patented TrueG technology, allows patients to receive precise arm weight support from shoulder extension to shoulder flexion. Patients perform a high number of repetitions of grasp and reach movements, taking their therapy to the next level.
- Customisable exoskeleton from paediatric patients to adult. The ArmeoSpring Pro enables training of the entire movement chain from the shoulder to the hand. It’s exoskeleton facilitates personalised therapy by allowing therapists to block specific joints and focus on selective movements.
- Motivating exercises. Game-like Augmented Performance Feedback and Virtual Reality exercises motivate to train actively core movement patterns that are commonly used in activities of daily living.
- Increased efficiency. The ArmeoSpring Pro facilitates increased therapy efficiency by reducing the therapist’s physical effort and the need for continuous therapeutic guidance.
- One device to support various therapy goals. ArmeoControl allows therapists to create a therapy plan tailored to the patients’ therapy goals. Therapy goals include cognitive training, increase range of motion in 1D, 2D, or 3D and further.
- Making patient progress visible. The reports provided by ArmeoSpring Pro include patient’s performance during the joint ROM and reaching workspace assessments. The reports allow tracking patient’s progress over time.
- Armeo support harness. The ArmeoSpring Pro comes with the Armeo Support Harness intended to restrict compensatory trunk movements during the therapy
Exoskeletons for severe upper limb impairment
If you’re looking for an upper limb robotic exoskeleton for severely impaired patients, we’d recommend taking a look at the ArmeoPower.
The ArmeoPower is a highly advanced robotic hand and arm rehabilitation device for acute early-stage patients.
Patients can use the ArmeoPower even before they develop active movement, so even the most severely affected patient can benefit from intensive, repetitive, task-oriented therapy.
The ArmeoPower uses the same Armeo Therapy software as the other Armeo devices so it is easy for patients and therapists to progress from one device to another as the patient makes progress in their recovery.
The next step in robotic gait rehabilitation
When providing intensive gait training, keeping the patient motivated and engaged is a key component for their recovery.
The LokomatPro Sensation is a highly intensive robotic gait trainer features three special improvements which enhance the patient’s experience, making therapy sessions more fun and personalised for them than ever before.
For the therapist, having more customisable exercises helps their patients push beyond their current capabilities, keeping the patient challenged and getting the most out of each session. Intelligent algorithms provide adaptive robotic gait support, allowing the patient to feel the support being given as well as experiencing their performance. This is a revolution for assist-as-needed therapy.
Music and auditory cues are synched with game-like exercises and challenges, boosting motivation, engagement and enrichment for the patient.
Finally, new therapy programs and expansions to existing exercises are offered to individually shape training and see vital progress in real-time.
