The Summit Medical and Scientific team are sponsoring two leading conferences in celebration of National Biomechanics Day on April 10th.

CITER Workshop – Cardiff University

The Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair (CITER) is holding a workshop on Digital Technology Rehabilitation for their research network. This workshop brings together communities from researchers, technologists and clinicians to encourage discussions of ongoing work in this field.

The aim of this workshop is to foster knowledge and experience exchange on how various technologies can uptake rehabilitation and patients’ quality of life. The workshop is open to CITER members; Post doctorate / research associates, MSc students, PhD students and academics.

From 11:45 – 11:55 our Managing Director, Sara, will be giving a talk entitled “Digitally Connected Care with HocoNet – The Future Has Arrived”. This talk gives an overview of HocoNet, Hocoma’s new software platform which connects all of Hocoma‘s portfolio across the entire continuum of care.

You can also speak to Sara in the exhibition area to discuss Hocoma’s innovative technology and how they have developed robotic and sensor-based devices for functional movement therapy.

BASES BIG – University of Huddersfield

We are pleased to also be the official platinum sponsor at BASES BIG, the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences Biomechanics Interest Group. The theme this year is ‘Applied Biomechanics: the application to real life’, and we will be in the exhibition area to discuss how you can take biomechanics from research to real life applications.

The aim of the meeting is to allow staff and students with an interest in sports and exercise biomechanics to network and represent their research to interested biomechanists.

We will be representing AMTI, who are the world-leading manufacturers in force plate technology. Their Optima range provides a 10-fold improvement on any force platform technology available on the market. Additionally you can find out more about the Hawkins Dynamics wireless plates, and the latest AccuPower 3.0 software which collects, analyses and compares force plate data for typical strength and conditioning activities and includes synchronised video.

We also be representing our partner Motek, who are the global leader in treadmill-based gait analysis and training, combining almost 20 years of experience in high-level technology and virtual reality.
