Brain and Spinal Injury Centre successfully fundraises for C-Mill
News
We are thrilled to announce that the Brain and Spinal Injury Centre (BASIC) has successfully fundraised for the Hocoma C-Mill VR treadmill. BASIC has been trialling the treadmill with their own clients and will continue to use the system for the benefit of their patients. We have been working with BASIC for a number of years and it has been a privilege to see their state-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities continue to expand.
“It’s helping improve balance, walking and confidence and making a big difference to people’s quality of life.”
You can read BASIC’s full testimonial for the C-Mill, as well as several case studies, here.
This fundraising was largely supported by The Clothworkers’ Foundation, who award capital grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations registered in the UK. To date The Clothworkers’ Foundation has awarded capital grants totalling more than £135 million. Visit The Clothworkers’ Foundation’s website here.
About the Motek C-Mill
The C-Mill VR treadmill is an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) treadmill, which contains a force plate for accurate gait and balance analysis. The C-Mill VR is ideal for adaptability therapy in a safe and controlled environment, and has optional integrated body weight support for patients who are unable to stand unsupported.
Developed by Motek and now distributed by Hocoma, the treadmill uses visual and acoustic cues projected onto the treadmill belt and displayed on the front screen, such as stepping stones, a slalom walk, or obstacle avoidance tasks. It also uses many challenging game applications and immersive virtual environments to provide motivation as they recover their stability and gait. Read more.
