We are proud to hear that our partner AMTI has donated force plates to CURE, Ethiopia’s brand new gait laboratory. CURE is the first of its kind in its country and the only other active gait lab on the African continent outside of South Africa.

The gait lab uses a motion capture system with EMG donated by Vicon, AMTI force plates, and a pedobarograph donated by NOVEL. The innovative technology is primarily used for patients with neuromuscular disorders (like cerebral palsy) to analyse their walking and assess complex orthopedic problems. This will help doctors determine the ideal treatment for the patient.

Gait labs have become an essential part of the care of children in large paediatric orthopaedic centres across the world.
