Smart Robotrainer by ddrobotec® and Schnell Replaces Four Traditional Workout Machines

Summit Medical and Scientific are pleased to debut the latest development from our partner ddrobotec®: the Stand Up Performance Robot (SUPR)!

Designed to enhance upper body strength, postural control, balance, and core and leg stability. SUPR boosts functional performance while helping to prevent injuries – whether in daily life or athletic training.

We’ve long awaited a system like this! With Robotrainer SUPR, our patients can now train trunk and arm muscles upright – mirroring real-life movement. It supports whole-body neurorehabilitation by building strength, coordination, and balance through personalised, functional training.

– Katarina Cobbaert-Hedlund, Head of VIVO Neurorehab in Zurich

What makes SUPR different from traditional fitness equipment?

Robotrainer SUPR isn’t just a training machine – it’s an intelligent training partner. It combines advanced robotics, real-time feedback, neuromuscular and cardiometabolic drills, and neurocognitive challenges to deliver a fully interactive and adaptive workout. Every session is high-intensity, deeply engaging, and tailored to the individual – making training more effective, motivating, and future-ready.

Is SUPR suitable for all fitness levels?

“Using the Robotrainer SUPR with the sitting feature makes me feel my abdominal muscles, which I normally can’t activate at all and only rarely with professional assistance.”

– User, 30 years old, lives with Cerebral Palsy

Absolutely. Robotrainer SUPR is built for everyone – from children (6+) and older adults to recreational athletes and elite performers. Whether you’re starting out, training at a high level, or managing a physical or neurological condition, SUPR meets you where you are and helps you move forward.

Can SUPR be used to train cognitive abilities?

Yes – cognitive training is built into every session. Robotrainer SUPR challenges your focus, reaction time, brain endurance, and decision-making while you move. The dual-task approach activates the brain and body together, enhancing cognitive performance, motor control, and overall engagement. It’s physical training with a mental edge, designed to keep both mind and body sharp.

How much space does SUPR need?

Robotrainer SUPR is space-efficient by design. It fits comfortably within just 2m² , including room for user movement and screen interaction. Its compact footprint (L 210 x W 85 X H 200 cm) makes it ideal for physiotherapy clinics, rehab centres, boutique studios, and performance labs – wherever intelligent training needs to happen without sacrificing valuable floor space.

How long are the training sessions?

A typical session lasts around 20 minutes, with 10-12 minutes of effective training time. Each session includes a mix of cognitive and physical challenges, and users receive a detailed performance report after every workout. Short but intensive, the sessions are ideal for sustainable and efficient progress.
